The cast and crew of iMusical: The Improvised Musical wanted a big new challenge to help mark their 100th performance. Just in time for the Capital Fringe Festival they definitely found it: going back to high school! The resulting show - iSchool Musical! - is their homage to the great and cheesy high school musical as it has evolved from Grease to Glee.
Each and every performance is an instantly created and unique musical inspired by suggestions from the audience. Every note, lyric, character and line of dialogue is improvised in this hilarious and subversive sensation.
The Washington Post calls iMusical "spot on," and the group has performed to standing ovations in several comedy festivals (Philadelphia, Baltimore, Del Close Marathon in New York at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater), as well as at venues across the DC area, including the Kennedy Center. Under the direction of Travis Ploeger, former longtime member of New York's renowned Chicago City Limits, iMusical explores the human teenage condition via song and laughter ... as only WIT can!
