The skills we use to improvise are the skills we use to grow and live our lives at any age. During the school year WIT shares improv with kids and teens through in-school performances and workshops as well as field-trip outings to WIT's home base at Source (1835 14th St NW).
Please contact us HERE if you'd like to discuss bringing improv to your group or class.
Each youth or teen engagement is designed to be fun, skill-building adventures where students explore these skills and more:

J.V. WIT
[for high-schoolers] Improv gives teens a great place to break out of their shells, explore their artistic voices, and gain great performance experience. It's also a great release from pressures and stress of the day. Working as an ensemble is incredibly empowering experience, when the idea of one player can be immediately embraced and supported by a group of one's peers. Whether your teen has prior experience or is exploring theater or comedy for the first time, WIT provides a great place to learn and explore. For students looking to gain more confidence in public speaking and group interaction, J.V. WIT is a great idea. GO TO J.V. WIT!

Improv connects everyone into one supportive team where strong choices, and risk-taking are enjoyed, and mutual support is key to the group's success. Kids create characters and scenes together, and share and learn their own unique perspectives in doing so. GO TO WIT KIDS!

Tiffany Ford was inspired to move to DC after being invited The 2006 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival as one of the top young directors in the country. As she used improv more and more as a directing tool, she realized that it's super-fun, and awesome, and fell in love. Prior to moving to DC, Tiffany performed at Walt Disney World in Orlando, while she attended the University of Central Florida Conservatory Theatre (where she studied improv). At UCF, she founded their first student production organization, and directed and produced many performances, including several student improv troupes. Tiffany is a teaching artist and director for many companies in the DC area, including Imagination Stage, Madcap Players, Doorway Arts Ensemble, Mount Vernon Community Children’s Theatre, ArtStream, and WIT.
